Sweet Violet Jam


Violets are beautiful flowers that carry a touch of nostalgia. If you want to spoil your mom or granny, this would be a wonderful way to do so.


One thing though, 250g of violets is a lot - this is not only a wonderful gift, it is a labour of love!



250 g violet flowers. Pick all of the green bits off. Leaving them in will change the colour

600 ml boiling water

750 g sugar

½ cup lemon juice



  • Boil the water, add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Add lemon juice and simmer until thickened.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the flower petals.
  • Pour into small sterilised jars. Seal and label.
