SYRUP

Two of the most powerful respiratory herbs are in this syrup. Thyme and mullein are not just for soothing coughs, they are excellent tonics for the lungs so this can be taken on a regular basis to strengthen the system

This is one of the best syrups for stubborn, deep seated coughs. These two herbs are also excellent for asthmatics and a tablespoon can be taken to soothe a tight chest.
INGREDIENTS
30g dried thyme
30g dried mullein leaf
750ml water
500ml honey or sugar

INSTRUCTIONS
Place the herb and water in a small pot
Bring to the boil, then simmer for an hour, or until the volume has reduced by one third - it will be 500ml
Strain and return to the pot.
Add the honey or sugar and stir constantly until dissolved.
Allow the syrup to cool and then pour into a dark glass bottle.
Seal and label.
