Sorrel Sauce

Do you have a sorrel plant in your garden but have no idea what to do with it?

Try this delicious sauce!

It provides a tangy lemony flavour which works well with fish, chicken or halloumi cheese


Ingredients

2 Tbsp butter

4 shallots or 6 spring onions, chopped

6 Tbsp cream

½ cup fresh, young sorrel leaves, finely chopped

Salt & pepper to taste


Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat

  • Add the shallots and fry for 2-3 minutes until softened

  • Add the cream and sorrel

  • Cook for 4-5 minutes until the leaves are soft.

  • Season with salt and pepper
